Job Summary

To ensure the availability, performance, security, and technical integrity of the SAP landscape by providing expert SAP Basis administration, supporting business-critical processes, and maintaining compliance with internal governance, IT service management, and information security standards. This role acts as the technical backbone of SAP operations, bridging infrastructure, application, and security layers while supporting business continuity and digital transformation initiatives.

Job Details

  • Ensure SAP systems comply with information security and data protection requirements
  • Support secure system configuration aligned with SAP Security Baseline and ISO 27001 controls
  • Participate in disaster recovery (DR) testing and business continuity planning
  • Ensure system access and changes follow approved authorization and audit trails
  • Promote safe operational practices during upgrades, refreshes, and maintenance
  • Ensure high SAP system availability in line with SLAs
  • Proactively monitor system performance and capacity
  • Respond to incidents within agreed resolution times
  • Plan and execute maintenance activities with minimal business disruption
  • Support time-critical business activities such as month-end and year-end closing
  • Maintain system stability and performance through proactive monitoring
  • Ensure SAP transports follow quality gates and change management controls
  • Validate system integrity after upgrades, patches, and changes
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and system architecture diagrams
  • Support continuous improvement of SAP platform reliability.
  • Provide reliable SAP services to internal business users
  • Support functional teams in resolving technical issues
  • Communication system outages, risks, and planned changes clearly
  • Contribute to improved user experience through system optimization
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to business stakeholders
  • Coordinate with external SAP vendors and service providers
  • Monitor vendor performance against SLAs and contracts
  • Support onboarding and access control for third-party support staff
  • Ensure vendor activities comply with internal security and change policies
  • Escalate vendor-related issues through appropriate governance channels
  • Support SAP technical architecture and landscape design
  • Contribute to system sizing, capacity planning, and scalability decisions
  • Advice on high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) architectures
  • Support SAP system migrations (e.g., ECC to S/4HANA)
  • Ensure technical designs align with enterprise architecture standards

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology and / or SAP Basis / SAP certification
  • Experience with on-premises SAP solutions (ECC or S4) or hybrid SAP landscapes (on-prem + cloud)
  • Several years (3–5+ depending on level) of experience administering SAP environments as a Basis consultant or administrator
  • Strong technical knowledge of SAP Basis architecture: application servers (ABAP / Java), database systems (HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.), operating systems (Linux, Unix, Windows)
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA, ECC, and ideally with migrations, upgrades or full-cycle SAP implementations.
  • Solid skills in performance monitoring and tuning, system health checks, capacity planning, and resource optimization
  • Proficiency in SAP transport management, change management and landscape administration
  • Experience with system security and user/authorization management in SAP
  • Good analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
